Sandstone Group was a principal in the purchase of this distressed asset that included partially-developed land and a portfolio of townhomes in one of the hottest markets in the Southeast -- the North Charleston area near the Boeing Aerospace facility. This multifamily asset included the final phases of Ashley River Commons, a community of 160 planned townhomes on the historic Ashley River outside of Charleston, SC. Successfully revitalized the existing townhome units for leasing and then sold all of the properties and the land.

Private-equity Firm Acquisition Support
Strategic consulting for large-scale asset purchase
CLIENT PROJECT
Sandstone worked with a multi-billion dollar private equity fund as a consultant and advisor to help its professionals analyze a large multi-state, multi-property acquisition involving a target company that was a national homebuilder that held over 1,600 individual land parcels. We interviewed the target's chief executives and worked with investment bankers, formulated sophisticated plans for different acquisition scenarios and corresponding valuations (and exit strategies), designed a detailed and methodical due diligence program, evaluated the management and operational aspects of the deal going forward and helped them work through potential legal pitfalls, which were numerous in this distressed company transaction.

Luxury Infill Development Project
DEVELOPMENT SITE - SOLD OUT
Sandstone Group recently developed a 9 lot infill subdivision off Meadowbrook Road in the exclusive Eastover area of Charlotte, NC. This in-town single-family home development is located close to Uptown Charlotte, SouthPark Mall and other South Charlotte amenities. The development is adjacent to the heavily forested Eastover Nature Preserve, and some of the project's site was donated by Sandstone to the Catawba Lands Conservancy (the conservation organization that has been responsible for this urban nature preserve) adding to the quality of the nature preserve and carefully integrating the project into the forest. Sandstone negotiated the acquisition of multiple parcels to assemble the land, developed the site and sold all of the finished lots to homebuilders. The community now has been fully built-out with luxury custom homes.
